Manchester United players in good spirits in training ahead of Brighton tie

Manchester United fans are feeling pretty down after the weekend’s disappointing result at home to Southampton.

One bit of good news is that the team are in action again as soon as tonight, giving the players another opportunity to get back on track.

The players appear in positive mood, with lots of smiling and cheery faces snapped in training pictures released from Monday’s session.

Bruno Fernandes in particular appeared to be happy, while Cristiano Ronaldo was seen raising a smile as he was pictured alongside a returning Fred, who joined the team after missing the last two league matches.

Another player returning to training was centre-back Eric Bailly, for the first time since the AFCON. He had come back from the tournament in Cameroon with an ankle injury.

Bailly is likely to take a spot on the bench, as the battle to partner Raphael Varane goes on. Harry Maguire has been in poor form and Victor Lindelof would be a popular pick in defence for Tuesday night’s game.

United are in action against Brighton at Old Trafford in a 8.15pm kick-off.

Also in training was young talent Hannibal, who made the bench for Saturday’s fixture against Southampton.

The Tunisia international is fresh off making FourFourTwo‘s list of the top 50 teenagers in world football alongside teammate Anthony Elanga.

Last week his Tunisia sporting director compared him in style to Luka Modric. If United can get into a strong lead against Brighton, there may be an opportunity to bring him on.
