Casemiro more important than Neymar
Casemiro has had an unbelievable club career, enjoying heralded status at two of the largest clubs in Europe.
He achieved a lot more at Real Madrid, winning five Champions League titles. Despite this, Casemiro claims his biggest achievement was regaining his form and place in the United side after being written off.
Brazilian journalist Arnaldo Ribeiro argues that Casemiro is undoubtedly the greatest player his country has produced in this era.
He points out that for all the hype around Neymar, Casemiro has been a cut above.
Ribeiro told UOL Esporte: “In terms of club football, Casemiro’s departure from Manchester shows that the great player of the Brazilian Neymar generation was Casemiro.
“He’s a guy who made history without reservations at Real Madrid and Manchester United. That’s it. No fluctuations.
“He’s the same age. But he doesn’t have the national appeal that Neymar has.”
