Bruno Fernandes has equalled the Premier League record for the most assists recorded in a single season.
Manchester United beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 in their final home game of the 2025/26 season to secure third place in the Premier League.

The record-equalling moment came in the 76th minute when Fernandes’ driven cross was turned in by Bryan Mbeumo.
It looked like Fernandes might break the record before the final game of the season next week, away at Brighton, as United attacked in numbers.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the full-time whistle, Fernandes reacted to his 20th assist of the season: “Everyone knew that it was important that I could get another assist at least.
“They’ve been trying everything they can to score from my passes.
“There were probably moments today when I should have passed instead of shot.
“I’m very happy for the assist, but more than that, I’m happy for the win and to finish the season on a high.”
Fernandes has been United’s most creative player since joining the club, but he is now getting the recognition he deserves after being nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season award.
The United captain was also voted FWA’s Footballer of the Year.

How Bruno Fernandes feels about aiming for assist No 21 against Brighton?
Sky Sports were keen to ask Fernandes if he was on the hunt for a record-breaking assist when United travel to Brighton next Sunday.
Fernandes maintains he is happy with the number of assists he has to his name this season, but getting another will also depend on Michael Carrick’s team selection.
He added: “I got to 20 today. Let’s see. We have one more game. The manager decides who will play the next game. I will be very happy to do it. But if I don’t, I am already happy because it is the most assists I have got in the Premier League.”
