Manchester United is set to overhaul the squad completely in 2025 with very few players safe.

Ineos are one year into the job and have now seemingly decided that the only way forward is to start from scratch.

Due to this, it is being claimed widely right now that Manchester United would consider offers for anybody.

According to Jamie Jackson, this includes the young trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund.

Mainoo has been reported to have Chelsea keen should he be for sale – however many United fans believe there is no chance this actually happens.

The reasons are financial, but these are decisions which Ineos would struggle to return from if they went through with it as the fans would be fuming.

How Alejandro Garnacho is feeling at Manchester United

With Mainoo taking the headlines, Garnacho is another academy youngster who is reportedly not unsellable.

United in Focus understands after speaking with Graeme Bailey, that the Argentine youngster is not happy right now.

“The background to it is he’s not happy”, Graeme explains. “There’s a worry on both Amorim and Garnacho’s sides over whether he can fit in the system. There’s no doubting his talent, but it’s not guaranteed that he’s in the long-term thinking. Is his future away from Old Trafford? It’s impossible to say right now, but is there a compatibility there? It’s yet to be confirmed.

There is interest in Garnacho, there’s a lot of interest in Spain, Atletico Madrid loves the player and have a long-standing interest in him returning. He’s one to keep an eye on as we head into the summer, he really is.

“The next few months are massive for him over whether he has a future, there is no doubting his talent but if he doesn’t fit into Amorim’s system then there isn’t going to be a long-term future for him.”

A move back to Spain appears likely, with Atletico Madrid keen to re-sign their academy prospect.

Ruben Amorim will be encouraged by Garnacho development

With the concerns held by United, Ruben Amorim, and Garnacho, it will take a lot of hard work to overcome these issues.

Garnacho is an awkward fit as a wing-back, lacking the physical qualities – while in the No.10 position, he is also not perfect.

However, Amorim will be encouraged by the cameo that Garnacho put in against Liverpool, in which he assisted Amad’s goal to level things up at 2-2.

More impressively than the assist was Garnacho’s change in attitude as he displayed great fight and tenacity off the ball – something Amorim has demanded with his ‘run like dogs’ ambition.

This performance was the first sign of the 20-year-old impressing under Amorim and if it continues – the unhappiness and concerns of all will dissipate.

There is no doubting Garnacho’s talents, so if he knuckles down as he seems to have been doing, he will have a future here.
