Werder Bremen feel they have signed a player with ‘incredible talent’ after snapping up Isak Hansen-Aaroen from Premier League giants Manchester United for around £200,000.
With his Old Trafford contract expiring at the end of the current campaign, Isak Hansen-Aaroen was never going to leave Manchester United for a particularly considerable sum.
But still, suggestions that Werder Bremen paid less than a quarter of a million for one of the most naturally talented footballers in the Red Devils under-21 roster will leave a sour taste in the mouths of many.
Particularly those supporters who felt that United had already been short-changed via the sales of Zidane Iqbal, Matej Kovar, Alvaro Fernandez and Teden Mengi.

Isak Hansen-Aaroen jumped at the chance to join the Bundesliga outfit last month, his omission from the FA Cup third-round clash with Wigan Athletic reportedly something of a final straw for a player who had made no secret of his desire to start playing regular first-team football.
And that £200,000 fee will prove to be a snip should he – as fellow Norwegian and the rising star Man City Oscar Bobb suggested – develop into an ‘incredibly good player’.
“He is a player who has incredible talent in small spaces,” agrees Ole Werner, Werder Bremen’s head coach speaking to BILD. “(Hansen-Aaroen) is technically very good.”
Werner is keen to avoid throwing the teenager in at the deep end, however. Hansen-Aaroen is yet to make his Bundesliga debut but was on the bench for the first time during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by Heidenheim.
“The collaboration is long-term. He has not yet played a competitive game in the professional men’s division,” Werner explains. “We want to develop him further and that includes in the physical department.
“He must become more robust, so he chooses the right decisions against physically superior players. Every session will help him adapt to the pace of the game. He definitely has the basics.”

Hansen-Aaroen is one of three players to leave Man United for German football since the turn of the year, following in the footsteps of Eintracht Frankfurt loanee Donny van de Beek and Borussia Dortmund’s prodigal son Jadon Sancho.
Former United youngster Tahith Chong had a loan deal at Werder Bremen, although struggled to make an impression.
