Manchester United youngster Joe Hugill had a weekend to rememeber with his best ever senior performance.
When Manchester United sent Joe Hugill to Wigan Athletic on loan there were high hopes. The Latics gave him their number nine shirt, a real show of faith.
But when the season began, the goals failed to materialise. Hugill went four consecutive League One games without scoring, plus a Carabao Cup game.
He broke his duck with a penalty in a EFL Trophy match, before scoring a brace this weekend in a 4-0 away win over Bristol Rovers.

Wigan manager praises Joe Hugill
Joe Hugill scored Wigan’s first and second goals in the 4-0 win, putting his side two goals by half-time.
The Manchester United youngster’s first league goals of the season are clearly going to be huge for his confidence, getting his season up and running.
Wigan boss Shaun Maloney spoke to the Latics website after the victory, and expressed his view that the only reason Hugill does not have more goals – is down to his teammates.
Maloney said: “Joe scored a penalty in Morecambe and that gave him confidence.
“In general Joe’s movement has been very good, it’s probably just been that final pass and he probably hasn’t had as many opportunities as we would have liked.
“I am so happy for Joe and his confidence.”
