Over the past few years, Manchester United have sold a large number of young players with high sell-on clauses, now we could see the first big benefit of one.
Academy talents at Manchester United do not always go on to make it like Marcus Rashford has until recently.
In fact, the vast majority of graduates have ended up heading elsewhere and built really good careers for themselves.
Angel Gomes is one which springs to mind at Lille, while another is Mason Greenwood at Marseille. Even Scott McTominay is another example as he is arguably the best midfielder in Serie A.
Recent reports claim that Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo could join this list if the right offer arrives, a decision that would turn the fans against Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Now, one sale from 2022 could be about to hand United an unexpected boost financially.

Palmeiras near £18.2m swoop for Andreas Pereira
United let Andreas Pereira go in 2022, selling the Brazilian midfielder for £10m with another £3m in add-ons.
Along with this, United included a 20% sell-on clause which could now come in handy at Old Trafford.
According to Brazilian outlet TV Espirito de Porco, which specialises in Palmeiras, Fulham have reached an agreement to sell Andreas for £18.2m rising to £20.7m.
The report claims it would now be a catastrophe is Andreas was not to sign for Palmeiras, with the 29-year-old tipped to travel in the next few days for his medical in Brazil.
Where this gets interesting is the percentage which United would receive if the deal goes through.
United have a 20 per cent sell-on clause in place with Andreas, which means from his reported €22m (£18.2m) fee, United would be in line for around £3.6m.
However, the deal is not done just yet with Fabrizio Romano claiming there is no agreement – although Palmeiras are keen.
So not one to count just yet – but worth keeping an eye on, with cash-strapped United sure to have their fingers crossed.
Andreas’ storied career brings him back to Brazil
Despite being born in Belgium, Andreas has been capped by Brazil nine times – scoring twice in the process – and has had a storied career which could now result in a return to Brazil.
United signed Andreas from PSV in 2012 when he was one of Europe’s leading talents. He then made the odd appearance for the first team before being sent on a series of loans to Granada, Valencia and Lazio.
Andreas then in 2021 headed to Flamengo on loan where he impressed enough to earn a move to Fulham and since then he has been a key player in their continued progression up the table.
Now, he may return to Brazil in what could be the final big move of his career and it is a fitting way to end things.
Annoyingly, he is a player that Amorim would probably love.
