Omar Berrada didn’t hesitate to reveal Ineos’ current feelings around one all-important Manchester United talking point regarding Michael Carrick’s Red Devils squad this summer.

Michael Carrick, who was appointed the permanent Manchester United manager last month, will return to the dugout in July for the start of the club’s pre-season tour.

The Red Devils have been out of action since May after the end of the 2025-26 Premier League season, with several first-team players currently on World Cup duty.

Ineos are plotting a continued major overhaul of the United squad in the summer transfer window ahead of the 2026-27 Premier League season under Carrick.

Omar Berrada responds to Bruno Fernandes’ Man Utd future amid Ineos’ transfer activity this summer

Outside of strengthening key areas of the Red Devils first-team squad, Bruno Fernandes’ long-term future at Old Trafford is another important area of focus.

Bruno Fernandes is out of contract with Manchester United in 2027 and the Red Devils are keen to tie the 31-year-old Portuguese midfielder down to a new deal.

The Man Utd captain, who is away on international duty with Portugal at the World Cup in North America, enjoyed a stunning run of form under Michael Carrick.

Omar Berrada was asked about the future of Fernandes at Man Utd and the Red Devils chief executive officer made Ineos’ position clear on the player.

“Bruno Fernandes is very happy and we’re very happy with him,” he said at the FT Weekend Festival in New York last weekend, as per The Athletic.

Bruno Fernandes’ phenomenal season at Man Utd is all but certain to seal a new Old Trafford deal from Ineos

Bruno Fernandes fired himself to the Premier League assist record for a single season after his significant influence on the pitch from January 2026 onwards.

The former Sporting CP midfielder chalked up a whopping 13 Premier League assists in the 17 matches that Carrick oversaw after Ruben Amorim was sacked by United.

Fernandes ended the 2025-26 Premier League season with 21 assists from 35 matches, with the Red Devils skipper netting nine times as well for his side.

The Portugal international remains a key part of Carrick’s plans at Old Trafford and Ineos are believed to be keen to keep hold of him after the World Cup competition.
