Manchester United fans are urging Erik ten Hag to start Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri alongside Rasmus Hojlund for the upcoming Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
Ten Hag is facing mounting pressure after United were outplayed in a convincing 3-1 Premier League defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The United manager has been without Antony after the Brazilian winger’s return was delayed “until further notice” due to the allegations facing him.
Jadon Sancho has also been excluded from the United first team after his public falling out with Ten Hag, leaving the former Ajax boss short on winger options.
Ten Hag was forced to switch up his tactics for the Brighton clash and played Rashford alongside £72m summer signing Hojlund, who appeared lively before his controversial second-half substitution.
United fans want Garnacho and Pellistri
Rashford was met with criticism by some United fans over his decision-making in the Brighton defeat, specifically when he had a clear-cut chance to square it to Hojlund.

“I’d honestly start Garnacho at LW and Pellistri at RW with [two] in the middle against Bayern. Rashford at this point is completely overrated for the money he earns,” one fan tweeted.
Another Twitter (X) user posted: “Start a front [three] of Garnacho-Hojlund-Pellistri against Bayern. Let Rashford be the impact sub, [I don’t care].”
“Hannibal [Mejbri], Pellistri and Garnacho need to start against Bayern,” a third fan wrote.
Someone else commented: “Start Garnacho against Bayern. Whatever should happen should happen.”
While a fifth said: “Rashford should not start over [Anthony] Martial/Garnacho [on] the LW vs Bayern, and Pellistri should start [on] RW, what did Ten Hag aim to achieve by playing [Scott] McTominay today? Guy had like 20 touches.”
And another fan simply posted: “Really hope [Pellistri] or Garnacho start at RW against Bayern.”
United’s tough test against Bayern
Ten Hag would have been hopeful of going to Germany with his United side in much better form — and with momentum behind them — for the Bayern clash.
The United boss led the club back to Champions League football this season after the Red Devils finished third in the Premier League in the 2022-23 campaign.
The Red Devils were drawn into Group A of the Champions League alongside defending German champions Bayern, FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
Ex-Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who was linked with United in the summer, will have much of the attention placed on him for Bayern’s Champions League clash.
United will travel to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday for their showdown against Bayern, with kick-off slated for 8pm UK time.
