Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez received an emotionally charged message from a Premier League talent after he suffered a devastating injury against Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace travelled to Old Trafford on Sunday and Oliver Glasner’s men secured all three Premier League points against Manchester United.
Jean-Philippe Mateta was the difference-maker between the two sides and the 27-year-old Palace striker scored a second-half brace for the Eagles.
Ruben Amorim’s woes piled on further at Old Trafford after Lisandro Martinez was forced off the pitch on a stretcher after an injury.
Martinez appeared to twist his knee while he was competing for the ball against Ismaila Sarr and he crumpled to the pitch, with the United star visibly in pain.
The 27-year-old United defender received medical attention on the Old Trafford pitch before Ruben Amorim subbed him off for Matthijs de Ligt.

Important message sent to Martinez
According to BBC Sport, Lisandro Martinez could be set for an ‘extended spell on the sidelines’ after his injury in the 2-0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace.
The publication claims that reports in Argentina suggest that the Manchester United star might have suffered cruciate ligament damage.
Martinez could miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season, which would be a major blow for United manager Ruben Amorim.
The Argentina international has become a key defensive figure for Amorim and regularly played as the left-sided centre-back in the three-man backline.

Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister, who plays alongside Martinez for Argentina, sent a heartfelt message to the United centre-back after his injury.
Posting on Instagram Stories, he wrote: “Stay strong my friend! To come back stronger than ever.”
Amorim’s impression of Martinez’s injury
United languish in 13th place after their Premier League loss on the weekend and Amorim will hope his side bounce back on Friday for their FA Cup title defence.
The Red Devils will resume their FA Cup campaign when they welcome Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City to Old Trafford, with kick-off slated for 8pm UK time.
Speaking after the 2-0 defeat to Palace, Amorim said that Martinez’s injury was a “serious situation” and admitted that the player is “really important” for his side.
“Yes, hard day for the team, for the fans, we lose again,” he explained, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“We improve in some areas of the game, we controlled better the game, we had more possession, we had situations, but, in the end, we suffered two goals that we can avoid.
“And Licha is really important for us, not just as a football player but the character that he has, especially in the hard moments.
“So, now it’s time for us to help Licha like he is doing for so long.”
Amorim added: “I think it’s a bad situation. Let’s wait to assess things with the doctor, but I think it’s a serious situation.”
