Manchester United star Leny Yoro sent a clear-cut message after Ruben Amorim’s men sealed a 3-2 Premier League win over Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim’s side were in action on Wednesday evening and Ipswich Town caused serious trouble for Manchester United in the first half of the match.

Ipswich took the lead in the opening five minutes after a miscommunication between Patrick Dorgu and Andre Onana allowed Jaden Philogene to score.

United rallied back and found an equaliser in the 22nd minute after Sam Morsy turned the ball in the back of his own net from a Bruno Fernandes free-kick.

Only four minutes later Amorim’s men would take the lead thanks to Matthijs de Ligt, but the Red Devils would be in for a rude awakening before half-time.

Patrick Dorgu was sent off in the 43rd minute before Jaden Philogene found the back of the net for a second time after another Andre Onana howler.

United walked away with all three points on the night after Harry Maguire put the Red Devils back in the lead only two minutes into the second half.

Yoro’s message and Fernandes’ response

Leny Yoro started the 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town in the three-man Manchester United backline alongside Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt.

The 19-year-old French centre-back impressed with his performance and Yoro almost saw out the full match before Ruben Amorim took him off in injury time.

Yoro took to Instagram after Wednesday’s Premier League result and praised his United teammates for their performance against Ipswich at Old Trafford.

Manchester United climbed to 14th place in the Premier League table after securing their ninth league win of their lacklustre 2024-25 campaign.

The Red Devils have now played 27 league matches and are 16 points clear of 18th-place Ipswich, with United 14 points adrift from the Premier League top four.

United will now return to action in the fifth round of the FA Cup and the Red Devils welcome Premier League side Fulham to Old Trafford on Sunday.

Speaking after the Ipswich match, United manager Ruben Amorim said: “I enjoyed the performance and the way we managed all the things against us.

“I felt the team were strangely more in control in possession than in other games with 11 players. Football is like that sometimes. You get surprises.

“We defended in the second half and tried to make some transitions to win the game.”
