Leny Yoro has settled down brilliantly at Manchester United following his £52m move in the summer.
Manchester United took a big risk when they splashed the cash on an 18-year-old Leny Yoro in the summer. It was seen as a real coup for the club when they beat Real Madrid to his signature.
An unfortunate injury in pre-season ruled Yoro out for the start of the 2024/25 campaign, but he is now being slowly integrated into the starting lineup by Ruben Amorim.
Yoro’s calmness and maturity has impressed United staff, and the Frenchman’s composure was on full display when he converted a penalty in the dramatic FA Cup win over Arsenal earlier this month.
Amorim has been full of praise for Yoro since he was appointed head coach in November and the Portuguese boss has trusted him in United’s biggest games this season.
After making his debut against Arsenal, Yoro starred against Liverpool, making an unbelievable last-ditch tackle on Darwin Nunez during the 2-2 draw.

Leny Yoro has forged close bond with Kobbie Mainoo
Yoro made his move to England as a teenager, but there were plenty of other young stars waiting to welcome him at Old Trafford, including Kobbie Mainoo.
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Yoro has forged a close relationship with Mainoo at United.
Not only are the duo the same age, but they also spent time together in the summer recovering from their pre-season setbacks.
Mainoo was the first to respond to Yoro’s debut and the pair are often spotted together in training or when arriving to matches.
The report also adds that teammate Andre Onana has become a “mentor” to Yoro. United’s goalkeeper is a fellow French speaker and at 28 years old is one of the squad’s more senior players.
Ruben Amorim is ‘very excited’ by Leny Yoro
In what has been a very turbulent season for United with changes in the boardroom and at manager level, Yoro has coped brilliantly.
Yoro was tasked with moving to a new country, overcoming a fractured metatarsal and then adapting to a newly-appointed manager. Despite his challenges, he is becoming a first-team regular and a fan favourite.
At the start of December, Amorim said he was “very excited” by Yoro and his potential.
“He is really fast, a modern defender,” Amorim told TNT Sports. He will be good when we want to press high and you leave a lot of strikers in this league one-against-one, he can manage that. He is very good with the ball so I am very excited.

“We have to be careful, we have to manage the load and minutes in the beginning but I am really excited to see Leny Yoro playing.”
The now 19-year-old is having to compete for a spot in Amorim’s back three, but there is no doubt that he has a huge future ahead of him at United.
