Jadon Sancho dropped his clear-cut reaction to a stunning moment from Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford during Barcelona’s 2-1 win over Newcastle in the Champions League on Thursday.
England international Marcus Rashford made a huge impact for Barcelona in the second half of their first Champions League match of the 2025-26 campaign.
The 27-year-old Manchester United player, who is on loan at Barcelona, broke the deadlock against Premier League side Newcastle at St James’ Park on Thursday.
Jules Kounde floated a cross into the Newcastle box from the right-hand side and Rashford planted his feet and turned a superb header into the back of the net.
Rashford’s show-stealing performance for Barcelona was completed only nine minutes later after the Three Lions star netted a sensational second for his brace.

Marcus Rashford scored a stunning screamer in the 67th minute after the Manchester United forward skipped the ball around Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali.
The ex-Aston Villa player was able to unlock some space outside of the Newcastle box before he unleashed a superb long-range strike from around 20 yards out.
Rashford’s shot flew into the corner of Nick Pope’s net after hitting the underside of the crossbar, with the Barcelona and United forward wheeling away in celebration.
Jadon Sancho, who is on loan at Aston Villa, took to Instagram Stories and shared two emojis alongside a photo of the moment that Rashford was about to shoot.
Rashford acknowledged the response from his United teammate by resharing his reaction on his own Instagram Stories after Barcelona’s 2-1 win on the night.

Anthony Gordon netted late in the second half for Newcastle, but Barcelona held onto their 2-1 advantage to seal all three points at St James’ Park on Thursday.
Speaking after the Champions League encounter, United loanee Rashford admitted that the Magpies were “very difficult to play” against for Barcelona on the night.
“[Playing for Barca is an] amazing experience,” he told TNT Sports, as per BBC Sport.
“I’ve always been a huge admirer of Barcelona. We want to win as much as possible.
“They [Barcelona fans] want to see the team win and play good football. This isn’t an easy place to play football.
“The first half was cagey. It’s very difficult to play against this team.”
Barcelona will now return to action on Sunday evening and the defending Spanish champions will face La Liga side Getafe at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
