Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has now found a way to unlock the full potential of England and Manchester United player Marcus Rashford at the Camp Nou.

Marcus Rashford has made four appearances for Barcelona in the 2025-26 campaign and the Manchester United loanee has picked up one assist for Hansi Flick’s men.

The 27-year-old England international left Old Trafford in the summer and completed a ‘dream’ move to Barcelona, with the La Liga outfit signing him on loan.

Rashford linked up with his Barcelona teammates for the club’s pre-season tour of Asia and was put through his paces under head coach Flick in the summer.

Flick has been experimental with Rashford and has used him as an alternative to Raphinha on the left wing or as a striker in the absence of Robert Lewandowski.

What does Hansi Flick plan to do with Man Utd loanee Marcus Rashford at Barcelona?

Marcus Rashford made his La Liga debut for Barcelona last month, with the Manchester United star coming off the bench in the 3-0 win over Real Mallorca.

The former Aston Villa star has started twice in his first four La Liga appearances for Barcelona ahead of Thursday’s Champions League clash with Newcastle.

According to The Athletic, Barcelona insiders have suggested that Hansi Flick has a ‘clear plan’ in place for how to handle Rashford’s 2025-26 spell at the Camp Nou.

The unnamed sources told the publication that the Three Lions international will be provided ‘proper time’ to ensure that he can discover the ‘best version of himself.’

It has been added that there have already been ‘several promising signs’ that the plan for Rashford, who arrived at Barcelona in July, is already working for Flick.

“Hansi is really on top of Rashford,” an unnamed Barcelona executive told the news outlet.

“He is really good with man-management, and a lot of that is being applied with him because Flick knows he needs that at this point in his career.”

What Marcus Rashford has shown at Barcelona behind the scenes after the Man Utd and England star’s arrival at the Camp Nou

Barcelona agreed to sign Rashford on a 12-month season-long loan deal and the Spanish club have the option to make his move permanent to the Camp Nou.

The defending La Liga champions are covering Rashford’s mammoth United wages during his loan spell, with the player agreeing to take a pay cut for the move.

The Athletic revealed that backroom Barcelona staff have seen the ‘true side’ of Rashford at the Spanish side and what he is really like away from the “headlines.”

“He is still a bit shy with all of us,” an unnamed backroom staff member told the publication.

“But he is laughing all day, you can tell he is so happy to be here. When he arrived, we thought we knew the sort of player he was.

“Big profile, flashy in a way, Manchester United talent, in the headlines very often… but what we’ve seen here is that he’s genuinely a good guy.”

United agreed a permanent transfer fee clause of £30.3m for Rashford if Barcelona choose to exercise the option for the former Aston Villa forward in 2026.
