Manchester United star Matheus Cunha played 65 minutes of Brazil’s 2-0 win over Senegal on Saturday.

Matheus Cunha is one of 20 Manchester United players currently away on international duty over the November break.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a wonderful start to life at Old Trafford following his £62.5m move in the summer transfer window, but his attention will now be on earning his spot in Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad.

Cunha and Casemiro starred in a 2-0 win over Senegal on Tuesday night, with the latter etching his name on the scoresheet.

While Cunha didn’t find the back of the net, there was still plenty to like about his performance on the international stage.

Cunha has added maturity and character to United’s dressing room this season, and his impact at Old Trafford has transcended well beyond just goals and assists.

While Cunha didn’t score or assist in Brazil’s friendly win, his statistics from the match do offer plenty of positive talking points.

Cunha did come extremely close to scoring for Brazil, hitting the woodwork twice in his 65-minute display.

United’s No.10 played up front alongside Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior in a 4-2-2-2 formation.

Under Ruben Amorim, Cunha has often played in a central role or off the left as a No.10. He showed his versatility once again under Carlo Ancelotti.

While other players have already wrapped up their international games in November, Cunha and Brazil have one friendly remaining against Tunisia on Tuesday evening.
