Manchester United fans do not have long to wait until Matheus Cunha’s transfer is completed.

The start of June marks the opening of the summer transfer window, meaning Ineos can begin the rebuild of Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Manchester United have agreed a £62.5 million deal for Matheus Cunha, with the Brazilian set to kickstart the summer rebuild.

Cunha is set to undergo a medical before finalising his move, and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reassured fans that it is a done deal.

With the window now open, it seems it could be a matter of hours until the deal is officially announced.

Cunha ‘loves’ United and wanted to get the deal over the line despite the Red Devils missing out on European football.

Ineos have wasted no time in the negotiation stage in order to get Matheus Cunha in a red shirt as early as possible for pre-season.

As per Manchester Evening News, Cunha has now been pictured in Manchester outside the Lowry Hotel ahead of his transfer move.

The report claims Cunha was due to dine at The Ivy on Saturday night, but the player was not spotted at the restaurant. Instead, his representatives were spotted alongside United’s director of recruitment Christopher Vivell.

Cunha was on his way to catch a flight to join up with the Brazil national squad after being called up by Carlo Ancelotti.

Details of Matheus Cunha to Man United deal

Cunha is set to become the first Ineos signing to break the £60 million barrier, but his arrival will still not take a huge bite out of the summer budget.

United will pay Cunha’s fee in instalments, with the Red Devils pushing for it to be spread over five years.

With United close to their PSR limits, spreading the cost of Cunha’s fee will help to reserve funds for further summer signings.

Cunha is set to earn around £200,000 per week at United once he signs his contract at Carrington. The Brazilian forward is expected to sign a long-term deal until 2030.

With Marcus Rashford expected to leave, Cunha will likely wear the No.10 shirt at United next season.
