Matheus Cunha is building on several friendships in the Manchester United dressing room, but he is already striking a strong bond with fellow new signing Bryan Mbeumo.
It’s a positive change to hear positive stories from the Manchester United dressing room.
Ruben Amorim will argue that it’s a result of getting rid of players who didn’t want to be at Old Trafford and replacing them with players who are prepared to fight for the shirt.
There has been a significant upgrade in United’s attacking play this season, even though it is still early days. Bryan Mbeumo has made a major difference by scoring six goals in 12 games, and Matheus Cunha is winning over the hearts of United fans with his technical ability and work rate.
These players will continue to settle into their new surroundings at Carrington, and it helps if they can strike friendships in the dressing room.
It doesn’t sound like Cunha or Mbeumo are having any difficulty on that front, with their popularity clear among their peers.

Matheus Cunha opens up on Bryan Mbeumo’s funny side
When you look at Mbeumo – whenever he isn’t mimicking Homer Simpson celebrations with Amad – the speedy forward looks assured, calm, but shy at the same time.
However, it has emerged that the United first-team gets to see a completely different side to Mbeumo.
Although Cunha fancies himself as one of the funniest players at United, the Brazil international says Mbeumo is in the top three.
Cunha adds that Mbeumo is different than what people expect behind the scenes.
“Wow, I’m one of them, honestly, I honestly think so,” Cunha told TNT Sports.
“I always try to play with the guys to get the pressure out. Bryan, he looks shy, but he’s someone who will play every single time, he is top three funniest in the dressing room, Bryan Mbeumo, 100%.”
United fans will be laughing if Mbeumo can continue his goalscoring fun. It would be even better if Cunha could start adding to his tally in a United shirt.
Matheus Cunha should eye Man Utd record in debut season
Cunha has just one goal to his name so far this season, but the former Wolves ace has been performing at a high level since his summer transfer.
The 26-year-old should be looking to beat Antony’s record of being the Brazilian with the most goals (8) in one season for United.
Are you excited for World Cup 2026 in the USA?
Casemiro came close with seven, and he already has three goals to his name this season.
Cunha should be targeting double figures at the very least.
