Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford was punished by Barcelona manager Hansi Flick for being late.
Barcelona beat Getafe 3-0 on Sunday evening but Marcus Rashford was nowhere to be seen in the starting lineup.
Just days after Rashford starred against Newcastle in the Champions League, he was left on the bench by Hansi Flick with reports that he arrived late to a meeting the morning of the match.
Rashford had disciplinary issues at United, including Ruben Amorim questioning his effort levels in training before eventually freezing him out of the squad.
After being dropped, Rashford did come off the bench at half-time and provided an assist for Dani Olmo.

Hansi Flick has a different approach to managing Marcus Rashford
Amorim questioned Rashford’s commitment last season which ultimately marked the beginning of the end for his United career.
The Carrington graduate was left out of matchday squads entirely before eventually heading for the exit and joining Barcelona.
Speaking on CBS Sports, Ian Joy praised Flick for handling the Rashford situation well and getting a reaction out of the forward.
“Hansi Flick is making this look unbelievably easy. He’s enjoying himself and you can see the smile on his face.
“But who would be late for a German coach? I can tell you, having played in Germany for five years, don’t be late!
“Hansi Flick has expectation and I think discipline is such an important part. But many players have obviously come under fire for making mistakes like this under previous managers, not at Barcelona but elsewhere as well.
“They have been put out the team, forced to sit and pay fines, all these types of things.
“Flick has made it clear – I’m going to discipline you, but you’re still an important part of this team.
“The reaction he got from Raphinha last week, and now this reaction from Marcus Rashford, he is just an absolute class coach.”
Ruben Amorim dealt with Marcus Rashford well
While Flick and Amorim have had opposite approaches to handling Rashford, it doesn’t mean the United boss made a mistake.
It was becoming clear that Rashford’s effort levels in matches weren’t up to scratch, and Amorim took action to make sure he was fielding players he trusted.

In the end, Rashford leaving was best for all parties as it seemed he was ready for a new challenge elsewhere.
Amorim always kept the door open for Rashford to return, but never felt like he was fully committed to the project at Old Trafford.
