Manchester United freshened up the coaching staff around Erik ten Hag over the summer as Ineos left no stone unturned in the quest for improvement.
Manchester United went on a real run of appointing managers around Erik ten Hag this past summer.
Ineos decided that United needed some fresh input around Ten Hag and changed up his coaching team.
Out went Benni McCarthy, who has left Ten Hag bewildered after suggesting the United boss doesn’t have the fire or passion for the top level.
Mitchell van der Gaag moved on and Steve McClaren has become Jamaica boss, leaving United to bring in some impressive appointments around Ten Hag.

Manchester United criticised over Rene Hake deal
Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake arrived whilst Andreas Georgson was brought in as a set-piece specialist.
United rather impressively managed to half the managerial careers of all three men in the process.
Van Nistelrooy snubbed the chance to manage Burnley in order to rejoin United whilst Hake and Georgson quit their posts to join United.
Hake was Go Ahead Eagles boss whilst Georgson was in charge of Lillestrom upon being called by United.
That formed an impressive team of coaches around Ten Hag but the moves haven’t exactly pleased the other clubs.
Lillestrom’s form collapsed after Georgson left and Go Ahead Eagles have now criticised United.
Go Ahead Eagles technical director Paul Bosvelt has told Voetbal International that he felt the situation around Hake’s exit was ‘very strange’.
United links to Hake emerged on 27 June but it wasn’t until 11 July that the deal was actually confirmed.
Bosvelt feels that United showed ‘misplaced arrogance’ in taking so long to finalise the deal, seemingly feeling that United thought they could just take Hake whenever they pleased.
“I thought it was very strange that it took so long for Manchester United to come forward. A bit of misplaced arrogance,” said Bosvelt.
Go Ahead Eagles felt that they were left stunted in their attempts to replace Hake as they didn’t know whether he was leaving or staying.

Hake will hope Ten Hag stays
Hake clearly felt that being a coach at United was better for his career than remaining in charge of Go Ahead Eagles.
The cynical view may be that both Hake and Van Nistelrooy believe they can step up as interim manager if a change is made.
United’s first port of call would be to put in a coach who has already been a manager and whilst Van Nistelrooy is the big name, Hake has been a manager more recently.
Hake is close with Ten Hag though having previously worked together at Twente.
Hake won’t want to see his friend lose his job, especially just months after deciding to quit his own managerial post to join him.
Ten Hag is under pressure after a slow start to the season but Hake will hope to really step up and help him navigate through this tricky period.
