Mason Mount has been discussing his start to life at Manchester United in a recent interview.
Manchester United signed Mount for £55 million in the summer and as of now, the move hasn’t set the world alight.
A month-long injury layoff hindered his start to the season which resulted in no England call-up in October for Mount.
Mount was immediately handed the number seven shirt, an iconic number for a player who has the talent to be just as iconic.
Speaking with talkSPORT, Mount explained his outlook on the number seven shirt.
“Of course, I know the pressure that comes with it [No. 7 shirt],” Mount said.
“I have been a fan of the likes of Beckham growing up as a kid so I know what he did at this club. For sure, there is pressure that comes with the shirt but that is something that I like to have.
“I want to perform in it and it is a massive, massive club and an iconic number so it really means a lot to me.”

Mount on his form at Manchester United
Continuing, Mount said: “It has been a very good start. I mean, integrating in the team, understanding the way the manager wants to play.
“I am learning the players around me, how they play. It takes some time to understand that and get into a flow. I want to improve my performances, but I think that will come over time.
“Also, performances as a group, I think we are getting there and we will keep continuing to work at that.”
Mount will be hoping he gets the nod in midfield tomorrow against Sheffield United, with Casemiro out he could make a formidable partnership with Sofyan Amrabat.
United need him to improve
Mount needs to improve ahead of what will be a pivotal month in the Premier League, Champions League and the Carabao Cup.
Assuming Mount is moved back into midfield, he needs to impact games more if United are to resurrect the season.
If Mount’s struggles continue, it could mean Hannibal Mejbri overtakes him, as he already has done with Christian Eriksen this season.
