Manchester United will be without Casemiro for the next two matches, and this is not bad news.
Manchester United were dealt the news Casemiro will miss this weekend’s Premier League match against Sheffield United.
The Mail report Casemiro is struggling with an injury sustained on international duty. He has been given extra time to recover.
This now means Casemiro will miss two games. He was already set to miss the following Champions League match against FC Copenhagen through suspension after picking up a yellow card against Galatasaray.

Casemiro absence well-handled by United
It certainly looks like Brazil managed Casemiro’s injury poorly. It was confirmed he suffered an injury against Venezuela which caused him to miss out training.
But then he was rushed back to face Uruguay, a match they lost, and it appears this has caused a further setback.
It is welcome that Manchester United are not rushing Casemiro back.
This is the kind of thing United have got wrong in the recent past, as we have just seen with Lisandro Martinez.
The Argentine was rushed back after the last international break, and has now had to undergo an operation.
There was no need for United to rush Casemiro back for the Sheffield United game, especially as he is not needed in the Champions League in midweek.
This is a welcome chance for United to give Casemiro a much needed and well deserved rest, for his own good.
Manchester derby on the horizon
It is also very notable that the Manchester derby is upcoming, set to take place on Sunday October 29 at Old Trafford.
By this point, Casemiro will have had the rest against Sheffield United and FC Copenhagen, and hopefully will be fully fit, fresh, and raring to go.
This could be vital to United’s chances of pulling off a much-needed victory.
Casemiro form was poor
The other major factor in play is that Casemiro’s form was poor prior to the break. He was hooked at half-time against Brentford and it was not a surprise at all.
His role in a draw and defeat for Brazil did not suggest a pick-up, and this spell on the sidelines will do him good.
United have options, with Sofyan Amrabat, Scott McTominay, Christian Eriksen, and Kobbie Mainoo closing in on a return.
The injury to Casemiro can provide one of these players with a chance to step up, and they may do so in an impressive manner which even means the Brazilian won’t need to be rushed back against City.
