Gary Neville has welcomed Ralf Rangnick to Manchester United – and taken a shot at the board in the process.
Manchester United confirmed Rangnick’s deal with an official statement on Monday morning.
The German coach replaces Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and will officially take charge once his visa is approved.

Rangnick will stay at United beyond his interim appointment, with the club stating: “Ralf and the club have agreed that he will continue in a consultancy role for a further two years.”
Former star Gary Neville has welcomed this development, and also taken a dig at United in saying that Rangnick will ‘coach the club’.
Neville is spot on
Nothing Neville says is incorrect. Manchester United have been awfully run under Ed Woodward.
Woodward is set to depart at the end of the year and Rangnick’s arrival signals a new focus on putting football first, instead of commercial factors.
The club have lacked an effective style of play on the pitch under previous bosses, and a proper recruitment strategy off the pitch.
Rangnick will help haul United into the modern era, and could be United’s most important appointment since Sir Alex Ferguson.
On the pitch, Rangnick has a big job to do, with United sitting in eighth place. But it is not all about this season.
The interim boss will play a role in helping United choose the club’s next permanent manager.
Rangnick has previously managed Schalke, Hoffenheim, and RB Leipzig.
