Antony has been granted a delayed return to the club after the international break amid ongoing abuse allegations, so here are four ways United could potentially replace him until he returns…

Facundo Pellistri should be option number one
Our number one choice for sure has to be Facundo Pellistri. The tricky Argentine winger deserves a start anyway, so this is the perfect opportunity to deploy him.
He’s a regular for Uruguay on the right-hand side, so has more than proven he’s up to the task physically as well as mentally.
Every time he’s been given a cameo, a very brief one at that, he’s looked so very dangerous. With Jadon Sancho having fallen out with Erik ten Hag after the Arsenal match and the ongoing Antony situation – this looks like the best option by far.

Bruno could slot in
The other option that has been used before is Bruno Fernandes in the right-wing slot.
The Portuguese Magnifico has proven he can pay there. He doesn’t necessarily have the pace needed for a winger, but his technical ability more than makes up for that.
We’d only argue against this due to how much impact he has on the game in his usual role. It seems silly to take your best player out of his best position when there are evidently other options.

Give a young lad his debut… and potentially unleash a superstar
There’s a right-winger who is making absolute waves in Manchester United’s academy setup and that’s Shae Lacey.
At the age of just 16, the winger has already featured for Manchester United’s Under 21’s. He’s also performing on an international level, assisting twice against Portugal this week.
His style of play has been compared to Phil Foden and his career path has striking similarities to United legend Wayne Rooney.
You look at Lamine Yamal scoring for Spain and playing for Barcelona at his age – so why can’t Lacey make his debut?

Sancho makes up with Ten Hag
A logical replacement would be Sancho, but it would have to involve Ten Hag and him making up.
Sancho called out the Dutch coach on social media following comments made by Ten Hag stating that the reason he wasn’t in the matchday squad was down to ‘poor performance in training’.
It has since been reported that Ten Hag believes the situation has been blown way out of proportion, so we wouldn’t be shocked to see this one also come about.
Slot Mason Mount in
Another option for Erik ten Hag is to use Mason Mount out on the right when he is fit to feature once again.
Mount has shown early on he does not really fit United’s three-man midfield, and Sofyan Amrabat’s arrival asks more questions over his role.
With Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho competing for game time on the left, Mount could slot in on the right instead.
