Manchester United have been tipped to sell one Erik ten Hag signing “as soon as they can” and the Red Devils could do so from 1st January “if possible.”
That is according to former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown, who has claimed that he has been “told” that the club want to axe one player.
Some of Erik ten Hag’s United players are now away from Old Trafford after the start of the October international break.
The Red Devils secured a 0-0 Premier League draw with Aston Villa at Villa Park ahead of the international matches this month.
Ten Hag, who inked a new United contract in the summer, has faced mounting pressure over the Red Devils’ lacklustre 2024-25 Premier League season.
United are currently 14th in the Premier League table after managing only two wins in their opening six league matches of the season.

Brown on Man Utd and January transfer window
Speaking to Football Insider, Mick Brown believes that Manchester United midfielder Casemiro will be axed from Old Trafford in January if the right offer is tabled.
Casemiro, who is under contract with United until 2026, has made nine appearances across all competitions for Erik ten Hag’s men in the 2024-25 season.
The 32-year-old Brazilian midfielder remains a key part of Ten Hag’s first-team squad, despite managing only three Premier League starts from seven matches.
Casemiro has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford in the past, with the former Real Madrid star attracting interest in both Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
“I’m told they’ll look to cash in on him [Casemiro] as soon as they can, on the 1st January if possible,” Brown said.
“He’s been benched because he hasn’t been performing and can’t do it anymore.
“I’m sure they would love to offload him if they could to get him out of the squad and off the wage bill, which would allow them to spend some money.”
Ten Hag still backing Casemiro at Man Utd
Casemiro first arrived at Old Trafford in 2022 after United signed him in a deal worth up to £70m from La Liga club Real Madrid.
The Brazil international was widely hailed for his transformative midfield impact in his debut season in England, but Casemiro’s influence waned last season.
However, Casemiro’s struggles have continued in the current campaign and the former Madrid midfielder endured a nightmare performance against Liverpool.
Ten Hag hooked off Casemiro at half-time in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford last month, but the Dutchman has still kept faith in the United star.
“[I] definitely need him, for sure,” he said in September, as per BBC Sport.
“Of course, I speak with him about the situation, but everyone can have a bad at the office, or do you never have a bad day at the office?
“He is experienced and it’s not the first time, I guess, he has dealt with a bad game and now he has to overcome this one as well.
“But that is normal in life. You have highs and you have lows.”
