There is good news for Ruben Amorim as his Manchester United players step up recovery from injuries.
Ruben Amorim has held his first training session at Carrington with a select group of players, with several still away on international duty.
Defensive wonderkid Godwill Kukonki was part of the session, a player who has impressed for the academy so far this season.
There were only 10 senior outfield players available for the session, with the academy players brought in to supplement numbers. With Amorim giving debuts to 27 young players at Sporting, they will hope to catch his eye.

Five injury boosts
Part of being successful is also being lucky, and Ruben Amorim may be off to a great start in that regard.
Manchester United have confirmed five players took part in the session who are working their way back to full fitness.
- Leny Yoro
- Tyrell Malacia
- Luke Shaw
- Kobbie Mainoo
- Amad
Amad pulled out of the Ivory Coast squad with a knock, but he appears to have made a very swift recovery.
Yoro, Malacia and Shaw are yet to feature all season due to injury, while Mainoo has been out since early October.
Given the short numbers this clearly was not the most intense of sessions, so it will remain to be seen whether all five stick with the main group all week – yet this is an encouraging sign.
Malacia played 45 minutes for the under-21s last week, and with another fixture on November 19, there is a possibilty he could feature again.
Two defensive doubts being assessed
Two players are back at Carrington after withdrawing from their international squads during the break due to injuries, Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez.
With Harry Maguire still out injured, United would ideally like to get one of the duo back, to help Amorim out with his preferred three at the back system.
