Ruben Amorim’s arrival at Manchester United could spell good news for Harry Maguire.
Manchester United fans only have one more week to wait before Ruben Amorim becomes head coach on November 11th.
Ineos identified the 39-year-old Sporting Lisbon boss as their ideal replacement for Erik ten Hag and United chiefs flew out to Portugal to get a deal over the line.
Amorim is set to make tactical changes at Old Trafford and is expected to implement his 3-4-3 system at United, which is equally as exciting as it is nervewracking.
Gary Neville believes a formation change will suit United‘s squad, and Ruben Amorim has had huge success with his system in Portugal.
It requires plenty of depth and quality at centre-back which could bring Harry Maguire back into the picture.

Harry Maguire will suit Ruben Amorim’s tactics
Amorim’s system requires three centre-backs who are all good on the ball and able to pass between the lines.
Maguire fell down the pecking order under Ten Hag, especially after the arrivals of Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro this summer, but Amorim’s arrival gives him a clean slate.
Importantly for Maguire, he has played in a back three before. He impressed in a similar system at Leicester City and England under Gareth Southgate.
The only flaw that could trouble Maguire is his lack of pace. Amorim has deployed an extremely high defensive line at Sporting and Maguire does not have the pace to recover if United are caught by a ball in behind.
Maguire has been linked with leaving United in recent transfer windows, but he may yet have a future under Amorim.
Harry Redknapp tips Harry Maguire to shine under Amorim
Former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp has predicted that Maguire will become a key player under Amorim.
Via The Sun, Redknapp said: “I wanted to find the players I could rely on, just as Amorim has to at United. And I’d be amazed if Harry Maguire isn’t top of that list.”
“Harry didn’t always have the easiest of rides under Erik ten Hag — and that’s putting it mildly — and a lot of money was spent on new central defenders.
“But Maguire kept his head down throughout it all, didn’t cause a fuss, waited for his chance and always gave 100 per cent when it arrived.
“There might be more glamorous names at United, but no one gives more, wants to win more, or cares quite as much.”
