At the start of the tournament, there were 14 Manchester United players competing at the 2026 World Cup this summer.

Summer signing Ederson was a late arrival to the Brazil squad after completing his £38 million move to United from Atalanta.

Now that the group stage has concluded, there have been three United players knocked out of the tournament, with 11 progressing to the knockout stages.

Matheus Cunha, Ederson, Casemiro – Brazil

So far, Matheus Cunha has been on a hot streak for Brazil with three goals in two World Cup starts.

New signing Ederson made a substitute cameo, while the departing Casemiro has been a mainstay in Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield.

After topping Group C, Brazil will face Japan in the Round of 32 and could then face Ivory Coast or Norway in the Round of 16.

Kobbie Mainoo, Marcus Rashford – England

Kobbie Mainoo is yet to play a minute in Thomas Tuchel’s England side this tournament, while Marcus Rashford impressed against Panama on his first start.

The Three Lions topped Group L, so will face Congo DR in the round of 32.

Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot – Portugal

It has been an underwhelming tournament so far for United duo Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot, who failed to top Group K after drawing to Colombia and Congo DR.

While Fernandes has impressed for Portugal, he will have to step it up to a new level in the knockout stages.

Noussair Mazraoui – Morocco

Mazraoui has showcased his versatility for Morocco this tournament, putting in some strong performances at left-back to finish second in Group C behind Brazil.

Amad Diallo – Ivory Coast

After an impressive AFCON campaign, Amad Diallo has shone for Ivory Coast in the World Cup alongside United-linked Yan Diomande.

With two wins and one defeat in the group stage, Ivory Coast matched Germany’s points tally and finished second in Group E.

Senne Lammens has been forced to play second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois in the Belgium squad this tournament despite his incredible debut season with United.

Belgium finished top of Group G despite winning only once.

Lisandro Martinez – Argentina

The 2022 World Cup champions Argentina have made a flawless start to the tournament, and Lisandro Martinez has been key to their defence.

Martinez kept two clean sheets, with the only goal conceded by his nation so far coming when he was off the pitch.
