Striker Edinson Cavani ended last season in amazing form, taking his debut Manchester United campaign to 17 goals.
Unfortunately the season ended in Europa League final heartbreak, and then Cavani’s Uruguay were eliminated from the Copa America – also in a penalty shootout.

Over the past month Cavani has understandably been having a total break.
The veteran forward has now turned his mind back to Manchester United, with an Instagram post reflecting on his first game in front of supporters at the stadium.

Cavani’s picture was from his goal celebration against Fulham in early May after his spectacular long range strike.
10,000 fans were in attendance for the game, which was a lot more than the empty stadiums Cavani and his United teammates have been used to playing in over the past year.
Motivation for the year ahead
Cavani’s message focusing on the feeling fans can bring to Old Trafford helps to underline his reason for staying and motivation for the season ahead.
During contract negotiations, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer urged Cavani to stick around for the real Manchester United experience.
Solskjaer told the club website after the win at Tottenham earlier this year: “I want him in Old Trafford when it’s full, Stretford End scoring a diving header like today. There’s no better feeling.”
Cavani took up United’s offer to extend his contract by a year, and he is expected back at Carrington today, The MEN report.
His Instagram post suggests his mind is refocused on United after a couple of months away, and now preparations will begin for him to start the first game of the season at home to Leeds on August 14.
