Edinson Cavani is closing in on a move to Manchester United.
The Times reports Cavani is so keen to get started that he asked if he could play for the club against Tottenham on Sunday.
We probably needed him. Anthony Martial started the game and was sent off.
This at least will push Cavani towards United’s starting line up quicker, with Martial now facing a suspension.
It was simply too soon for Cavani to feature against Spurs, with the deal still being finalised today.

Right attitude
Manchester United need fighters and Cavani is exactly that. He has the right attitude for what the club need right now.
Cavani was in Manchester to undergo a medical on Sunday night.
The former PSG star will be able to play for United against his former side in the Champions League.
United’s first Champions League game is away to PSG later this month.
One of the concerns over Cavani which has been put forward is that he is a mercenary after a big pay day.
His desperation and desire to play immediately does not fit this description.
The Times reports Cavani is keen to prove a point to PSG they were wrong to minimise his role during his final season.
United need players with passion and desire to succeed right now, and Cavani is exactly that.
