We reported over the weekend how Mason Greenwood has been getting a big new tattoo on his arm.
Now a supporter has also been busy getting a picture of a Manchester United player tattooed on his.
The picture took De Gea aback, who responded to seeing the lengths the supporter from Thailand had gone to.
This shows some real commitment right there. We all have favourite players, although not many fans would go to such extreme lengths to get their entire face tattooed on a limb. But that’s the curiously obsessive side of football fandom. Supporters from around the world can choose to go to extreme lengths to display their passion for a club and a player.
De Gea is United’s most capped current player, having joined the club back in 2011.
The bad news for the Spaniard, and the supporter, is that De Gea has recently lost his place as United’s first choice. He could end up leaving the club this summer if he remains a back-up to Dean Henderson.
De Gea could be back in the line-up this week as United’s cup goalkeeper, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer picking him in the Europa League quarter-finals against Granada. A big call awaits in the semi-finals.
