Bryan Robson makes end-of-season prediction for Man United under Ruben Amorim

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson is feeling positive about his former side’s chances of success this season.

After an underwhelming start to the 2025/26 campaign, Manchester United are finally starting to build some momentum under Ruben Amorim with a four-match unbeaten streak.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe publicly supported Amorim at his lowest, and now United’s head coach is repaying that faith with on-pitch improvements.

Back in September, Bryan Robson agreed with Ratcliffe that Amorim deserves three years in the job before being judged.

Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest marked Amorim’s first full year in charge, and Robson is already spotting signs of progress.

Bryan Robson backs Man United to qualify for Europe

Defeat in last season’s Europa League final meant that United headed into 2025/26 with no European football on their calendar.

Amorim’s aim is to return to Europe, and Robson believes that is a very achievable goal this season.

As quoted by Sky Sports, Robson said: “I think he’s found it hard this last year, but I can see improvements and we are turning it around.

“We’ve made some really good signings, and I can see an improvement in the team. So hopefully that will continue.

“This season, I can see us getting into Europe. Whether or not it’s the Champions League, I’m not so sure.

“But they are capable of doing it with the squad they’ve got.”

Man United are defying odds this season

After the disastrous 2024/25 season, United fans approached the new campaign cautiously without too much expectation.

Amorim was given a 0.6% chance of winning the Premier League this season, and there are very few supporters who will argue against those odds.

However, the Opta Supercomputer in September also only gave United a 4% chance of qualifying for the Champions League, and a 3.15% chance of qualifying for the Europa League.

Incredibly, the Red Devils were given a 10% chance of being relegated.

Since then, United have put together an impressive run of results and climbed to eighth in the Premier League table – just two points off second place.
