Bruno Fernandes – no stranger to Italian football from his time with Novara and Udinese – responded with just two words, stating ‘che giacatore’.
That Italian phrase means ‘what a player’ in English, marvelling at how McTominay is performing for Napoli.
Bruno may well wish McTominay was still a United player, but at least loves seeing his success in Italy.
Harry Maguire also applauded McTominay, with the United defender sharing his appreciation for the midfielder’s exploits.

Napoli are running out of games to catch Inter, but will keep pushing until the very end with McTominay shining.
McTominay is not the only former United man playing a key role under Conte, though.
Striker Romelu Lukaku joined United back in 2017 but spent just two seasons at Old Trafford before joining Inter Milan.
Now back under Conte at Napoli, Lukaku has bagged 12 Serie A goals this season whilst also racking up 10 assists in an impressive campaign.
Lukaku and McTominay combined brilliantly against Empoli and may yet have title success together as the Serie A season draws towards its close.
