Manchester United’s first-team might be having a historically bad time right now but it seems like leaving the club is automatically revitalising careers for now.
Tyrell Malacia is the latest to feel that after staging a massive upset in the Champions League, knocking out Juventus with PSV.
Malacia impressed the Dutch press with his performance in the game despite starting on the bench because he ended up playing 42 minutes due to the game going to extra time.
It continues a trend of Malacia doing well at PSV where he became a starter right away and took on a leadership role.
With a buy-clause included in Malacia’s loan, the chances are that might get triggered if he keeps up his form, with Bruno Fernandes reacting to the Champions League upset engineered in part by the Dutchman.

Tyrell Malacia knocks out Juventus with PSV
Like Marcus Rashford, who finds himself in the Champions League now on loan at Aston Villa, Malacia is also taking full advantage of the opportunity.
Against Juventus, he came on in the 78th minute and played 42 minutes where he created a chance, had 25 touches of the ball and was an all-action presence in defence.
The extra-time winner was scored with him on the pitch and the fullback already seems to have endeared himself to the PSV faithful.
He completed two out of his four attempted crosses, a success rate practically unheard of among United’s wing-backs, and seemed to thrive at the big stage but without the toxic scrutiny that follows players at Old Trafford.
Antony recently admitted to the same as he thrives at Real Betis and the sample size is quickly becoming too big to ignore it as a coincidence.
Bruno Fernandes responds to Malacia message
Despite his playing history fraught with illnesses, Malacia remained a popular member of the dressing room at Man Utd for his attitude and application.
That was on display after Malacia sent a message upon staging the massive upset in the Champions League.
The fullback wrote, “𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 team effort. Last 16 bound!” with a clapping emoji accompanying pictures of himself in action and celebrating with the team.

United captain Bruno Fernandes responded with a heart emoji, full of appreciation for a player who’s done well to come back from such a brutal run with injuries.
Malacia’s international teammate and one-time United target, Orkun Kokcu also responded with three fire emojis, a testament to Malacia’s connections in the game.
