Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty in Brentford defeat

The defeat to Brentford was United’s third loss of the season, despite it being just the sixth Premier League match of the campaign.

United fell two goals behind early on to an Igor Thiago brace before Benjamin Sesko scored his first goal for the Red Devils.

In the 77th minute, Fernandes missed a penalty which would have drawn United level in London.

Brentford then went on to seal the win with a third goal in stoppage time. Fernandes was “sloppy” against Brentford and had a game to forget, but his season has since flipped on its head.

Bruno Fernandes has transformed his Man Utd season

United have improved since losing to Brentford in several ways, and the transformation of Fernandes’ season cannot be understated.

Incredibly, when United lost to Brentford back in September, Fernandes hadn’t registered a single Premier League assist.
