Manchester United are up against Brentford next and the line-up at Old Trafford will be very different from the last home clash against the Bees.

Following the 1-0 win over Chelsea, Manchester United are now on the brink of securing Champions League qualification.

Up next is a visit from Brentford, who are also hoping to make a late push into the European spots.

Michael Carrick can hope for Harry Maguire to return as well as, potentially, Leny Yoro. But one thing that is guaranteed is that United’s line-up will look completely different than the last visit from Brentford when Erik ten Hag was in charge.

Three available Man Utd stars who started vs Brentford last time

The last time Brentford visited Old Trafford was in October 2024, when Ten Hag’s United beat Thomas Frank’s Brentford 2-1.

Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund scored the goals to give United three points, and the line-up from the day now looks unrecognisable.

Out of the starting XI that faced Brentford last season, only Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro are available to face the Bees on Monday evening.

Lisandro Martinez started at left-back, but the Argentine defender is still serving his suspension from his red card against Leeds United.

Man Utd recent record vs Brentford

Since that win over Brentford at Old Trafford last season, the Red Devils have suffered back-to-back defeats away to the London side.

This season, Ruben Amorim’s United lost 3-1 to Brentford, with Benjamin Sesko scoring the only goal for the Red Devils.

United’s home record against Brentford should give supporters confidence, though.

Since their promotion to the Premier League, Brentford have lost all four of their visits to Old Trafford.
