Football fans can be impatient. With United 2-1 down at half-time against Roma, the doommongers were out in force.
Would this be yet another semi-final slump, and a fifth under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?
Well, United responded, emphatically.
The team hit five unanswered second half goals to win 6-2 and leave Roma reliving a nightmare they thought they would never experience again.
Bruno Fernandes summed the feeling up after the game with a cheeky message to fans…
The second half was a joy to watch. United ran rampant, and it was like watching the team playing a 10-man Southampton, not Roma.
Fernandes scored two goals in the win, Edinson Cavani bagged a brace himself, while Paul Pogba and substitute Mason Greenwood also got in on the act.
Cavani sent a message to supporters which read very simply, and modestly, ‘good win guys’, as if he was just playing in a friendly match. To be fair, he made it look that easy.
In the Premier League, United have Liverpool next. With the team playing like this, bring them on.
