Bruno Fernandes showed a true touch of class once again after the Manchester United captain had a heartfelt interaction with one emerging Red Devils prospect.

The 31-year-old Manchester United midfielder hit another milestone in his prolific Old Trafford playing career after he took his goalscoring tally to 100 last weekend.

Bruno Fernandes marked his 200th Premier League appearance for the Red Devils in 10-man United’s 2-1 win over 10-man Chelsea at Old Trafford last Saturday.

The United captain had a real impact on the proceedings at Old Trafford, with Fernandes breaking the deadlock for United against Chelsea in the first half.

Fernandes impressed United fans with his showing in the Premier League win and once again highlighted his influential role on the pitch for Ruben Amorim.

What happened between Bruno Fernandes and Man Utd talent Sam Mather at the Carrington training complex says it all

Bruno Fernandes has faced criticism this season over some of his performances after undergoing a positional change under Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim.

Amorim has deployed the Portugal international in a deeper role in his tactical system, with Fernandes playing in the two-man midfield pivot for United.

Fernandes’ attacking qualities have struggled to shine at times due to his place in the middle of the park and the Portugal star is still trying to adapt to the role.

The former Sporting CP midfielder took part in United tactical drills at the Carrington training complex on Tuesday in the aftermath of the Chelsea result at Old Trafford.

Sam Mather participated in the United training and the United youth academy product earned “personal praise” from Fernandes after one moment at Carrington.

Speaking on Manchester United’s official website, Adam Marshall said that Sam Mather “connected sweetly” with his strike and ‘thundered’ his low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Bruno Fernandes receives a special present from Man Utd at Carrington after his milestone Red Devils feat

Fernandes’ goalscoring tally reaching 100 at United earned the Portugal international a special framed artwork when he was at Carrington on Wednesday afternoon.

The piece of art celebrated each of the 100 times that Fernandes found the back of the net for United, with the captain only the 23rd man to pull off the feat in the club’s history.

“Obviously, thanks to everyone from day one,” Fernandes said in his speech, as per Manchester United’s official website.

He added: “All the assists, all the goals, all the penalties that you guys you [sic] gave me the chance to score.

“I’m very happy and proud to achieve this big number. It wasn’t something I was dreaming about when I grew up to become a footballer, but, obviously, it’s a privilege for me and I hope that, together with this, we can put a lot of trophies in the cabinet because that is what matters most.”

United will now return to action on Saturday afternoon and the Red Devils will face Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium in their Premier League clash.
