Bruno Fernandes enjoyed a big month for Manchester United in November.
He scored six goals in six games and also provided one assist, helping United climb the Premier League table.
Fernandes’ outstanding form saw him voted as the fans’ player of the month, beating fellow nominees Fred and Harry Maguire.
This remarkably is the fifth time Fernandes has won the player of the month award at United – and he only signed in January.
He won the award four times last season and this is his first of the 2020/21 campaign – with Juan Mata landing the September gong and Marcus Rashford in October.

How Fernandes’ tally compares
Fernandes is the quickest Manchester United player ever to win the player of the month award five times.
The player of the month award was created in the 1994/95 season. Fernandes has surpasses many huge names on his way to five wins.
As GiveMeSport note, Fernandes’ Cristiano Ronaldo won the award only four times.
These wins were in November 2006, December 2006, January 2008, and March 2008
Fernandes has also gone in front of a previous United number 18, Paul Scholes
Scholes won the award four times, in January 2003, December 2003, October 2006, August 2010.
Fernandes’ tally of five draws him level with record goalscorer Wayne Rooney, who won the award on five separate occasions between 2005 and 2010 and then never again after that.
Robin van Persie won it two times, as did Ryan Giggs, while Ruud van Nistelrooy had three wins.
These figures seem remarkably low for players so talented, yet that was the problem, United had so much quality competition around the team so individual awards were spread out.
Fernandes stands out
Fernandes has made such a difference to Manchester United since he signed in January. He has been everything we could have hoped for, and more.
The post-Sir Alex Ferguson era has been incredibly tough, and in Fernandes, United finally have a hero worthy of starring in one of the great man’s teams.

Prior to Fernandes’ arrival, United looked pedestrian and struggled badly to break teams down. More quality has subsequently been added around him, but his personality stands out along with his technical quality.
It is this combination which makes Fernandes such a fan favourite. Even on his bad days he often pops up with a goal or assist or even both.
There are many more awards coming Fernandes’ way. It would not be a surprise if he has added another five player of the month awards by this time next year.
