Ben Foster has put the spotlight on what Michael Carrick said about Elliot Anderson ahead of the Nottingham Forest midfielder’s impact against Manchester United.
Manchester United and Nottingham Forest were in action at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon and the Red Devils walked away with all three Premier League points.
Despite Forest’s 3-2 defeat to Man Utd on the day, England midfielder Elliot Anderson stood out for all the right reasons for his performance at Old Trafford.
Forest fought back in the second half against United and Anderson was at the centre of his side’s display after the 23-year-old Three Lions ace chalked up two assists.

Manchester United have been linked with Elliot Anderson and the Nottingham Forest midfielder has been tipped to make an exit from his current Premier League club.
Anderson has also been on the radar of Manchester City, with Forest now facing an uphill battle in keeping hold of the Man Utd-linked midfielder in the summer.
Ben Foster highlighted how interim boss Michael Carrick was full of high praise for Anderson and then the Forest ace showed his impact directly against United.
“Did you see Michael Carrick saying lovely things about Elliott Anderson last week?” he asked on the Fozcast podcast.
Foster then added: “Well, he did, but he was just saying, what a lovely player, like, he’s the beating heart of Forrest and all that, and then he goes and gets two assists against Man United.”

Man Utd target Anderson has netted four times and registered five assists in his 49 matches across all competitions for Forest in the 2025-26 campaign.
Foster was blown away by the England midfielder’s brace of assists at Old Trafford and feels that a big move for Anderson is now around the corner for him.
“I’m thinking, ‘Oh, that’s probably earned you a move, that has mate,’” he added.
“There’ll be a nice little £80million bid coming in soon for you.”
Anderson is under contract with Forest until 2029 and the Premier League club are expected to demand a fee in excess of £100m before they allow him to leave.
