Manchester United ended the 2025-26 campaign on a high note after Michael Carrick led the Red Devils to third place in the Premier League table under his interim reign.
Carrick’s success as interim head coach at Old Trafford saw the United legend become the permanent head coach ahead of the final match of the season.
The 44-year-old United manager succeeded Ruben Amorim as the head coach at the Premier League club before leading the Red Devils to a 3-0 win over Brighton.

Manchester United will be back in the Champions League for the 2026-27 campaign after the Red Devils successfully mounted a top-four challenge this season.
Michael Carrick’s appointment as Man Utd manager means that the former Middlesbrough boss’ United coaching staff will also remain in place at the club.
Speaking on his podcast, Ben Foster was asked if he could realistically see the Red Devils mount a Premier League title challenge in the 2026-27 season.
The 43-year-old former Man Utd star admitted that it “wouldn’t surprise” him around a Premier League title push, so long as Ineos effectively recruits in the summer.
“It wouldn’t surprise me,” Foster said on Fozcast.
“It wouldn’t surprise me at all. If they put a couple of big names in there as well, it wouldn’t surprise me.”
