Ben Foster has now dropped his telling rating to Manchester United signing striker Benjamin Sesko from German side RB Leipzig back in the summer.

Benjamin Sesko became the Red Devils’ third high-profile summer signing after Manchester United landed both Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

The 22-year-old Slovenian forward was linked with Arsenal back in the summer before the Gunners instead signed striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.

United entered the race to sign Sesko amid Newcastle’s interest at the time and the Red Devils successfully hijacked the transfer from the Magpies in August.

The Red Devils agreed a deal worth £73.7m to land the Slovenia international, with United paying RB Leipzig a hefty initial transfer fee of £66.3m.

Ben Foster now reveals his transfer stance on Man Utd trio Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo

Benjamin Sesko has impressed with his performances at times in the 2025-26 campaign, but the Manchester United striker’s spell has left much to be desired.

The former RB Leipzig ace has only netted two times for United in 14 matches across all competitions since his big-money move back in the summer.

Speaking on his podcast, Ben Foster dropped powerful reactions to Sesko’s teammates Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo over United signing the pair.

When asked about the Mbeumo signing from Brentford in July, Foster responded: “Great signing.”

Reacting to Cunha’s arrival from Wolves in June, Foster added: “Perfect signing.”

Foster is not convinced of Sesko in the same way as Mbeumo and Cunha and the former United shot-stopper made his position clear on the Red Devils striker.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Fozcast show, he asked his panel: “If you had to rate that [Man Utd signing Sesko] out of 10 for a signing so far, what would you say?”

This is what Benjamin Sesko is really capable of!

Do you think Benjamin Sesko can hit this kind of form at Manchester United?

Foster then suggested that former RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig striker Sesko is only a ‘three out of 10’ signing and the player’s performances have spoken volumes

“It’s a three at best, which tells me it’s not worked,” he continued.

The pressure is now on Benjamin Sesko to deliver for Man Utd after his slow start at Old Trafford

Sesko has remained Ruben Amorim’s key pick for the striking role in the 2025-26 Premier League campaign ahead of out-of-favour forward Joshua Zirkzee.

However, the Slovenia striker has not had an easy time with his start to life at Old Trafford, with summer signing Sesko suffering a knee injury back in November.

Sesko only made his return from his injury setback this month and the attention is on the United summer signing in the absence of fellow summer signing Mbeumo.

The Red Devils star has not found the back of the net in the Premier League since October, with Sesko scoring in United’s 2-0 Premier League win over Sunderland at Old Trafford.
