Ben Foster is in full agreement with Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane after the Manchester United legend singled out one player’s display against Aston Villa on Sunday evening.

The Red Devils are currently seventh in the Premier League table after Aston Villa defeated Manchester United 2-1 at Villa Park at the weekend.

Ruben Amorim’s men dropped valuable Premier League points in their encounter with Villa, despite impressing with their strong performance in the first half.

Morgan Rogers put Villa into the lead over United in the 45th minute before Matheus Cunha brought the Red Devils level on the scoreline in first-half injury time.

However, Villa once again benefited from the superb performance of Morgan Rogers, who netted a second curling effort past Senne Lammens in the second half.

Ben Foster feels the same way as Roy Keane over what Man Utd defender Diogo Dalot did against Aston Villa

Morgan Rogers broke the deadlock after Leny Yoro allowed the 23-year-old winger to cut inside and unleash his stunning strike past a helpless Senne Lammens.

However, Diogo Dalot raised eyebrows in the build-up to Villa’s opener against Manchester United after he vacated the space from which Rogers collected the ball.

The 26-year-old Portuguese full-back was much livelier in attack at Villa Park, but Diogo Dalot was complacent with tracking back compared to Patrick Dorgu.

Dalot was more directly at fault for Rogers’ second of the night after he did nothing in his power to intercept Youri Tielemans’ dangerous cross into the United box.

Speaking on his podcast, Ben Foster feels that Roy Keane hit the nail on the head with his remarks about Dalot’s performance in Sunday’s 2-1 Premier League defeat.

“How to quickly stretch a team is such a skill because everybody’s in disarray, yeah?” Foster asked on Fozcast.

“Because everybody has to just drop everything and go, ‘Oh no, we’ve got to get back because we’re miles away from everything.’

“But I think Roy Keane got it bang on afterwards about just the sort of, like, the dedication to really, really stop goals going in. The second goal, Dalot, sorry, the first goal, Dalot.

“Yes, sorry, that’s bad [the first one from Yoro]. But the Dalot one, not stopping the cross in the first instance.

“Just no, there’s no real, it’s like it’s not even a thing.”

What exactly did Man Utd legend Roy Keane say about Diogo Dalot after the Aston Villa match?

Keane praised Matheus Cunha’s impact for United at the weekend, but the Sky Sports pundit dropped a brutal reality check on Diogo Dalot over his performance.

“They’ve got to be more intense when they’re defending, there’s got to be a bit more pride,” he said on Sky Sports.

“I look at Dalot there, he’s getting interviewed after the game. Dalot, for the second goal, the intensity or desire to stop the cross.

“These are big moments in a football match. It ends up being a poor cross, but Aston Villa [are] playing with confidence and belief, make the most of it.”

Speaking on Dalot, United legend Keane added: “There’s too many players, like Dalot, who just don’t do enough. I won’t use the word ‘cheating,’ but they just not doing enough.

“After the game, I’d be looking at him [and] I wouldn’t be looking at other bits of the game. I’d say, ‘Are you going to stop him?’”

United will be in action on Boxing Day and the Red Devils will welcome Premier League side Newcastle to Old Trafford for their Friday evening clash.
