Manchester United take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in a 8pm kick-off on Saturday night.
After entering the international break in a lowly 10th place, Manchester United have a chance to reset.
Strangely, the break came at a bad time. United were riding a high of a dramatic 2-1 comeback win over Brentford.
The momentum from that exciting late victory has now disappeared, with Erik ten Hag’s side starting from scratch in an awkward away match on Saturday evening.
Sutton predicts Manchester United win
BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton is forecasting a win for Manchester United, calling a 2-0 away victory.
He believes Marcus Rashford will be the key man, lifted by his goal for England in midweek, a point also made by Manchester United fans.
He told the BBC: “Marcus Rashford’s goal for England on Tuesday was important too – it has come at a good time for him after nine games without scoring for club and country and will give him confidence before the trip to Bramall Lane.
“Sheffield United will be awkward and resolute but I think Ten Hag’s side will edge it, and give themselves another lift before next weekend’s Manchester derby.”
A big week for Manchester United
Manchester United follow up the trip to Sheffield United with a home match in the Champions League against FC Copenhagen.
After a poor start in the Premier League, and in particular the Champions League, it is vital for Erik ten Hag’s side to record two victories.
United then host City in the derby, and November provides it’s own tough run of fixtures.
Three wins this coming week would go a long way to turning the mood around at Old Trafford, and get the season moving in an upwards direction.
