Anthony Martial and David de Gea send coded message to Aaron Wan-Bissaka after first goal since Man United exit

Aaron Wan-Bissaka etched his name on the scoresheet for the first time since leaving Manchester United.

Manchester United parted ways with the 27-year-old this summer with Aaron Wan-Bissaka joining West Ham for £15m.

Wan-Bissaka opened up on his difficult United exit recently but he has hit the ground running in London and cemented his position as a key player for the Hammers.

Since starting the opening game of the season on the bench, he has featured in 11 consecutive Premier League matches for West Ham.

Within those 11 games, Wan-Bissaka faced United in Erik ten Hag’s final game, with the Dutchman sacked after losing 2-1 at the London Stadium.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka scores first goal since Man United exit

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s latest appearance came at St James’ Park on Monday night – West Ham’s longest away trip of the season.

Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui has been under immense pressure following a poor start to the season but Wan-Bissaka delivered for his manager by scoring his first goal for West Ham in a 2-0 victory over Newcastle.

Wan-Bissaka was incredible at Newcastle as he kept winger Anthony Gordon quiet with his trademark sliding tackles. He burst forward in the second half and fired a low strike into the corner to double West Ham’s lead.

United fans were impressed by Wan-Bissaka’s debut for West Ham back in August but he arguably had his strongest game since his summer move on Monday evening.

David de Gea and Anthony Martial reply to Aaron Wan-Bissaka

After scoring in West Ham’s 2-0 win, Wan-Bissaka took to social media to celebrate his first goal for the club.

He posted an eight-word message on Instagram that read: “First in claret & blue ⚒️ we keep pushing 🕸️”

Former teammates Anthony Martial, David de Gea, Anthony Elanga and Teden Mengi were quick to respond to Wan-Bissaka in his comments section.

Martial and De Gea both made reference to Wan Bissaka’s “spider” nickname that he earned at United for his tackling ability and long reach.

Former United coach Benni McCarthy also replied, saying “Nice one Wan B, well played mate and good goal.
