Amad Diallo has rapidly become the shining light at Manchester United and Thursday night could be another big night for him.
Ruben Amorim is enacting drastic change at Old Trafford.
Already Alejandro Garnacho is edging towards a move to Napoli, while Marcus Rashford is also expected to be on the exit list come February 3rd.
These two players were Erik ten Hag’s star attackers, yet Amorim has instead made Amad Diallo his main man – with the Ivorian rewarding this trust ten-fold.
Manchester United have seen the birth of a superstar this season, coming four years after he was initially signed.
In this time, it has not been smooth sailing for Amad – as he spent periods out on loan, with one loan seeing him head to Scotland and Thursday night’s opponents.

Amad Diallo left his former Rangers teammate in awe
Amad spent the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan at Rangers, where he had a pretty torrid time.
Rangers only played Amad 13 times – as he scored three goals – and he was often scapegoated for defeats and it ultimately was a move which Amad will not look back on fondly.
However, in advance of United facing Rangers, his former teammates have been full of praise.
Speaking to The Athletic, Scott Arfield recalled his time working with Amad, claiming the 22-year-old had one very special quality.
“He had one of the best attributes you can have as a professional footballer: being the best trainer every day.
“The sessions the day after a game are mostly for the boys not playing, so they can be a grind but, honestly, he was bang on it. He was a monster every single day with his quality and his work rate.”
James Tavernier claims he knew Amad was set for the top
Arfield was not the only Rangers name to speak out on Amad, with the captain of the Ibrox James Tavernier praising Amad and claiming he always knew he’d be a star.
“I was always convinced Amad would be a top player,” Tavernier said in a pre-match press conference on Wednesday. “He showed some good spells but was in and out of the team at Rangers. But had a good spell at Sunderland and is now showing his top talent.
“We need to be aware of his threat. Ibrox is a different learning curve. His time here will have taught him a lot.”
Tavernier will be excited to come up against Amad – but he may be left finding out just how good United’s No.16 is. Hopefully, he can show Rangers his ability and get revenge for how he was treated at times.
