Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot both spoke out after Manchester United’s thrilling 2-2 draw against Premier League rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday evening.
Manchester United returned to action for the first time in 2025 and the Red Devils produced a strong showing after a disappointing end to 2024.
Ruben Amorim’s men lost their last four matches across all competitions in December 2024 ahead of travelling to Anfield on the weekend.
The United manager oversaw a Red Devils performance that impressed fans and pundits after his side’s poor showing against Newcastle at Old Trafford last month.
Lisandro Martinez stunned Premier League leaders Liverpool in the second half after he fired United into the lead with a sensational finish.
However, Cody Gakpo produced an equaliser for Liverpool only seven minutes later before Mohamed Salah put the Reds into the lead from the spot-kick.
Amorim’s side ensured that they walked away with an important Premier League point on Sunday after Amad Diallo scored a crucial equaliser in the 80th minute.

Diallo and Dalot send messages
Manchester United are now 13th in the Premier League table after Sunday’s 2-2 draw and the Red Devils are level on points with 14th-place West Ham.
Ruben Amorim’s men are seven points clear of the relegation zone and United are 13 points off from the top four after a woeful 2024-25 Premier League campaign.
United have managed six league wins in 20 matches and Amorim faces a tough task in turning the tide back in the Red Devils’ favour in the second half of the season.
Amad Diallo made his impact against Premier League leaders Liverpool and the United winger shared a powerful message after the result at Anfield.
“ALWAYS GOD [sic],” he wrote, adding an emoji of a finger pointing up.
Diogo Dalot, on the other hand, admitted that United produced the “bare minimum” with their performance against Liverpool amid the weather conditions for the match.
“A battling point in tough conditions, this is the bare minimum in terms of standard and passion,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Get home safe, Reds.”
Amorim on his Man Utd players
Speaking after the 2-2 draw at Anfield, Amorim insisted that he is “always challenging” his United players after his arrival from Sporting CP in November 2024.
“I am trying that every day, I am trying to push this team every day,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“Sometimes it is maybe not the best way because I’m always challenging these players in everything I do, because I feel that we are – not just the players – but everybody in Manchester United is too comfortable.
“So, I think we need sometimes a shock. And you can see it today, we were a different team. It’s not about the system, it’s the way we face the competition.”
