Manchester United suffered a major setback against West Ham, with Lisandro Martinez hobbling off injured.
Despite the 3-0 victory, the mood was somewhat dampened at Old Trafford due to the Agentine’s cruel fate just games after returning to the first-team frame.
It has now been confirmed that Lisandro Martinez will be out for around one and a half to two months – which is both good news and bad news.
Good news as it isn’t anything to do with his ACL, bad news as it means yet another spell on the sidelines, missing key games, for The Butcher.

Altay Bayindir to Lisandro Martinez
Upon the injury news being fully confirmed, various Manchester United teammates and friends sent Licha messages – including Altay Bayindir.
Despite only playing once with Martinez, it is evident the pair have developed a bond off the pitch, with the Turk sending him the following message. It read: ‘Get well soon my brother you will be back more stronger,’ with a love heart and two muscle emojis.

Fans will be desperate Altay Bayindir is right
‘You will be back stronger,’ is what everyone hopes. However, the more times Martinez is injured, the less likely this feat appears to be.
It was remarkable the way the Argentine waltzed back into the team after his previous injury, given the severity of it, but now he has to do it again.
Martinez is a fighter – that’s for sure. The worry we now have is that he could follow a list of players plagued by career injuries, never reaching his full potential.
The rehabilitation process needs to be spot-on, and he can’t be rushed back. Let’s just hope Bayindir is proven right and we see Licha back to his best in the near future.
