Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez is a popular figure at the club on and off the pitch.
There is a reason Lisandro Martinez‘s absence threatens to be a huge blow for Manchester United, he is the heartbeat of Erik ten Hag‘s team.
In just a few games back in 2024 he made a big difference, and Manchester United fans were enjoying seeing him play again.
Now he faces a spell on the sidelines with a MCL injury which will keep him out for at least another two months.

Show of support for Lisandro Martinez
Lisandro Martinez has worked so hard to get back from two spells out with a foot injury so it is frustrating to see him sustain a knee injury now.
In a post on Instagram he thanked fans for their outpouring of support, and received plenty back.
Martinez received responses from current Manchester United teammates Antony, Sofyan Amrabat, Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen and Altay Bayindir among others, plus a former Red.
Ex-teammate David de Gea reached out with a simple yet powerful message, reading simply, ‘Warrior’.

De Gea and Martinez bond
A year ago David de Gea and Lisandro Martinez were embarking on one of the most memorable months in recent Manchester United history.
It was a month which culminated with an enjoyable win at home to Barcelona, leading into the Carabao Cup final over Newcastle.
These were special memories for the players involved, with Martinez and De Gea both starters.
De Gea was released the following summer and remains a free agent, surprisingly, but is still paying close attention to everything going on at Manchester United.
