Manchester United have some impressive players in the squad right now, but Alejandro Garnacho may be most impactful.
The Argentine winger has yet to start a game this season, but already he has caught the eye in his three cameos for Manchester United.
Alejandro Garnacho was centimetres away from leaving the Amex with a third-goal contribution in three games, only denied by VAR and Joshua Zirkzee’s unfortunate knee.
Erik ten Hag has labelled Garnacho as having the X-factor and world-class potential, something we expect to see more of this season.
Alejandro Garnacho named in Premier League’s top five wingers
Writing his column for The Times, Tony Cascarino has praised Garnacho and named him alongside Mohammed Salah and Bukayo Saka as the best wingers in the league.
“Alejandro Garnacho, Manchester United He’s been the one bright spark at Manchester United in the past year, along with Kobbie Mainoo.
“He’s a cocky young lad and I love that — it’s what you need as a winger, a belief that you can beat a man and score a stunning goal.”

This was not all the praise Cascarino aimed at Garnacho as he also claimed the Argentine could even follow in the footsteps of Ryan Giggs – this comes after Giggs actually praised Garnacho earlier this month.
“United are a club who are known for their wide players carrying real threat but only Alejandro Garnacho looks like he could follow the tradition of players such as Ryan Giggs and Andrei Kanchelskis.
“Garnacho has the bravery and confidence to try to beat players and even if he loses the ball he will try again. How long will that cockiness last under this United manager?”
His cockiness is something which has bid him well so far in his young career, and after the VAR debacle which ruled out his goal against Brighton, Garnacho showed this confidence once again by sending a message to fans.
Manchester United will be hoping for Cristiano Ronaldo-esque improvements
Coming into this season, many expected Garnacho to once again improve and take a leap similar to how Cristiano Ronaldo did in his third season as a United first-team player.
After the City game, it seemed this would be the case, with Garnacho looking ready to be the MVP for United.
Since then he assisted against Fulham and could easily have scored against Brighton – all of this points toward him having a pretty special season.
Against Liverpool, smart thinking would be that Garnacho will start after Marcus Rashford once again failed to influence the match last time out.
Now, Garnacho needs to prove everyone right and have a season which firmly locks himself into the top five wingers in English football.
