Alejandro Garnacho once again proved influential for Manchester United vs Brighton.
During Manchester United’s 2-1 loss to Brighton, there were two disallowed goals scored by the Red Devils, with one being particularly frustrating.
United have been subjected to some awful VAR decisions in recent memory, along with some bad refereeing decisions costing United points.
These goals were not examples of this in theory, but Alejandro Garnacho’s goal was ruled out for a ridiculous reason. Joshua Zirkzee’s momentum meant he could not get out of the way.
Both Fabian Hurzeler and Erik ten Hag admitted how unlucky Garnacho was.
The official VAR explanation for ruling out Garnacho’s goal did explain things, and now the Manchester United player himself has reacted.

How Alejandro Garnacho has reacted to VAR disallowing his goal
The goal denial will have been annoying for Garnacho as it would have been one to potentially win United all three points – but also would have been his third goal contribution of the season in just three games.
Now, after the game which resulted in an unfortunate defeat for Erik ten Hag’s Reds, the 244th Carrington academy graduate Garnacho has taken to X with a message to supporters.
Garnacho wrote: “God has something planned for me, trust the process.”
This was accompanied by a picture of United’s No.17 celebrating his goal before it was chalked off by VAR.
This goal being taken away from the Argentine will be even more painful because of the blunder Garnacho made in front of goal against Fulham.
However, to read that he is not letting it get him down is encouraging and makes us confident that he will bounce back with a vengeance.
This season feels like it will belong to Alejandro Garnacho.
Manchester United have a star on their hands
Up until now, Garnacho has been a prospect for United after his breakthrough this will be his second season as a regular, but it looks to be his first as a regular performer.
In all three competitive games this season, Garnacho has made an impact. Scoring against Man City, and assisted against Fulham. Then he should have also had a goal against Brighton but the point is he makes an impact – something which will continue with the mentorship of Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
With Marcus Rashford being poor this season so far, chances are Garnacho will be in the starting line-up very soon. Garnacho’s performances have him in the running to be Golden Boy 2024, and if he is given the starting spot again it could get better.
Of course, if he had finished a little closer to the near corner against Brighton, the goal would have counted. But finishing is something Garnacho is working on and if we had to make a prediction, we imagine that he will have a breakthrough season.
Despite frustrations recently, Garnacho is a star and we are blessed to have him.
